New Website for May 2012!

Ralph Allen School has been working with specialist education design company ‘Cleverbox’ since October 2011 to bring life to 3 of our ambitions  around improved communications. These are 1. New website 2. New Prospectus’ (for Whole School and Sixth Form) 3. Brand guidelines.

Website
In recent years our community has told us that they would love to see improved functionality on our website, and an updated design which better represents our ethos, and all that we take pride in at Ralph Allen. Following around 18 months of considered research of website providers and other school websites, we began working with Cleverbox, who we are confident will deliver the best possible product for our investment. The new site will have many new features including, Headteacher’s Blog, Media Gallery, Mobile version of the site, Official Alumni area, cleaner look and a ‘less click’ sitemap. The site will also retain many existing useful features such as Parent Pay facility, VLE link and News.

Prospectus’
Our current Whole School Prospectus is 5 years old, and the Leadership Team feel it is now time to refresh our message to prospective parents, update the offer of our facilities, and showcase our new uniform. A new Sixth Form Prospectus will also be produced to deliver a consistent, up to date and informative message.

Brand guidelines
Although at first these may seem like an optional extra, the brand guidelines will actually be the glue which binds the first two projects together. The brand guideline document will inform how all Ralph Allen materials will look in terms of colour, font, layout and form. They will support our goal that Ralph Allen publications and images becomes unmistakably Ralph Allen and synonymous with our ethos and values. Brand guidelines also protect our investments, offering value for money through consistency, and ensuring articles we produce have longevity and use for the maximum amount of time.

By working with Cleverbox across all 3 projects, we feel we are working most efficiently and with value for money. The photography created  by Cleverbox will feature the new uniform and act to inform the community of this change. The same photography will be applied across both prospectus’ and the new website, in the same way as the design work of one project will be applied to the other. We appreciate that many members of our community have asked us to update these long in advance of this article, however we would like to reassure that we have taken this time to consider our needs options and resources carefully, alongside the change in uniform, to truly make an investment in our promotional materials which will represent Ralph Allen for several years to come.

Safeguarding Regulations

All visitors to the school will be asked for evidence of identity. Unless you are from an organization which operates CRB checks (such as a school, local authority, teacher training institution) we cannot allow you unsupervised access to the school site. A member of staff will accompany you.

E-Safety Students are encouraged to click on the CEOP button if they are concerned about their own saftey or any inappropriate behaviour towards them when using the Internet. It's a free and confidential service offered to all young people for their own safety, protection and peace of mind.
